January Hackathon

The Hackathon opens Monday 12th January 2026 and ends on Thursday 12th February 2026 to solo developers or teams, by which time all projects should be submitted.

The theme for this hackathon is DeFi and Contract Engineering and we will be offering 3 cash or stablecoin prizes (delivery method agreed with winners after judging).

Registration

Please complete the registration form here:

Register Now

Please ensure you invite the following collaborators to the GitHub repo you will use before submission:

  • theo-contract-dev
  • peter-contract-dev

Submission

Any code you wish to submit must be in a GitHub repo with instructions in the readme for how to use your submission. It should contain all contracts (solidity only please) as well as any setup or interaction scripts needed. If you create a frontend for your submission please provide installation instructions, including any env vars like API keys if applicable, or host it yourself and provide a URL, we will consider all aspects of your submission but the focus is on your smart contract design and implementation.

Although not required, you may wish to include a description of the project, why you chose it, where you would like to take it if you had more time and resources, which will be considered while judging. This is a good place to let us know about known limitations (due to time or technical complexity).

Projects do not need to be production-ready or perfectly polished, we encourage participants to iterate and ship quickly.

Repositories can be public or private, but if private they must invite the two GitHub handles mentioned in 'Registration'.

Prizes

There will be three prizes issued, and all winners (and any projects we found interesting but did not win a prize) will be showcased on our landing page and X page.

Best Use of Existing DeFi Infrastructure - $200

This prize is for contract systems that use existing defi (or related) infrastructure, this could be anything from Uniswap, to Chainlink, to GameFi.

Best use of contract.dev - $150

This prize will be awarded to the project that makes the best use of the tools and functionality available on contract.dev. This could be use of CI/CD, debugging capabilities, use of defi tools, use of mainnet forking or anything else on the platform.

Best Contract Logic - $100

This prize will go to the most innovative, interesting, or technically impressive smart contract implementation.

Projects can win multiple prizes.
